Woke up early in the morning to meet Hyewon unnie again! It was a last minute decision before she flies off to Malaysia in the afternoon.
I was damn tired because I went home late from practice at school yesterday but nonetheless I brought Hyewon unnie to have Ya Kun for breakfast at Raffles City!
She loved the eggs and the bread and kaya toast. And can you believe it she actually went on to eat Bibigo right after we finished eating?
How I miss Korea hearing her update me about my Korean friends and teacher and I can't wait to go back!
Awww I'm having all my withdrawal symptoms again. :(
Anyway I headed back to school in the afternoon for practice because today was the performance day!!
So excited for it that I'm gonna write a separate post about it. Hehe.

안년하세요!
13 August 2014, Wednesday
Well that means "Hello" in Korean. Guess what? I met my Korean friend today!!
Hyewon unnie was one of the many friends I met during my four months in Daejeon, South Korea for my OSEP. She is just one year older than me and she is coming to Singapore for a short trip!
Her plane touched down at about noon time but because I was working I could not pick her up from the airport. Thankfully she have tons of Singapore friends too! And most of them are from Nanyang who went for OSEP on batches before me as well.
This friend of her, Weishan, who apparently stays near me too, picked Hyewon unnie from the airport and brought her around till I was supposed to meet her. We agreed to meet at 7pm at Raffles Place mrt, but because Hyewon unnie didn't text me the entire day, I was kinda worried if the meeting would be called off. :/
I tried chatting with her on Kakao Talk and even messaging her but I got no reply. Eventually, while I was on the train with Theresa, she called me with a Singapore number (which I presumed is a passer-by's number) and blurted lots of Korean to me. Because I was underground and the reception was not too good, I couldn't really hear clearly where is she waiting for me. So after blabbering for about 5 minutes on the phone we ended the call. And I prayed hard she would be waiting for me at the exit of the station.
When I arrived at Raffles Place, I searched both levels of the platform but could not find her. I tapped out of the exit and attempted to look for her, but because it was after office hours, it was difficult to spot her. After all, I haven't seen her for more than 6 months.
She was the one who recognized me from afar and I just ran across and hugged her and yelled out "Unnie!!!" Because it was so difficult to find her I'm glad I finally did.
We headed to Lau Pa Sat because she got to know of that place through a documentary and she really wanted to try the satay there. Honestly it was my first time there as well but we managed to get there safely. *achievement unlocked*
As I said it was my first time there, I really didn't know which stall was nice, so we just sat anywhere that was available. That's when the store owners start approaching you. This satay man and three prc guys from a tzechar store hung around just so to ensure we will order from them. So as I was discussing with Hyewon unnie on what she would like to have for dinner, this three prc guys were eavesdropping on our conversation so openly. Lol.
And then he started introducing the dishes on the menu in Korean to us, like crab and vegetables and all. I just nodded my head because I was in the midst of a conversation with Hyewon unnie. After we decided on what we wanna eat, I just turned to the guy and ordered in chinese and then all of a sudden all three of them were staring at me and the first question they asked was, "你会将华语?!" In which I replied, "当然啊我是华人耶." Hahaha they must have though both Hyewon unnie and I were Koreans lolol.
We had dinner and Hyewon unnie was really so amazed and fascinated by the Singapore delicacies because she saw them all before on the documentary. We went to Starbucks after that and sat a while befor eheading to Chinatown!
We walked past this shop selling 麻辣汤 and Hyewon unnie instinctively stopped and turned to look at that shop. She lovesssss 麻辣汤! So we went into the shop and I am so amazed at how she can eat so much even though we just had dinner! And the same drama happens.
When we are discussing on what she wanna eat, the guys in the shop kept gossiping about us in chinese, which I obviously understood. And when I opened my mouth to order in chinese, they looked at both of us in disbelief lol. Enough of this kinda story anyway hahaha.
After which we parted ways *sobs* where she heads back to her hotel in Lavendar and I head back home because I have work tomorrow. She is heading to USS tomorrow with her other group of Singaporean friends!
Just a short catch up with her but it means so much to me! Am so elated to see her again after seven months apart!
And on a side note, damn I miss Korea. :(

Farewells
04 August 2014, Monday
Back to work after a long week break is definitely not something to look forward to.
What's worse is I came across a terrible news.
Mirko, my ex-boss of F&B, has resigned last Friday.
I doubt anyone can understand how I feel really. Almost four years of working with him, yet I don't even know how did we get close/did he appreciate me. Like my colleague said, even though I let him down again and again (at least twice), he still vouches for me and eagerly tries to put in good words for me.
Deciding to leave F&B and join Sales was already a very hard decision, furthermore knowing that Mirko had actually spoke to HM about me transferring department because he wanted me to work for him so badly, made me feel even worse. What better feeling can one get than having your boss appreciate you more than anything else? Its an honour, to have your bosses appreciate you and fight for all your rights.
When Giovanni left a few months back, it was already one round of sorrow and tears. I know people come and go, but they've been really nice to me all these while that I feel so indebted to them. I still find it a pity that I didn't to bid farewell to Giovanni officially. I hope he's doing well somewhere now.
And coming back on a Monday morning to see that even Mirko has left, it suddenly feels like there's no meaning for me to stay in Shang anymore. And I question myself, is he the one who keeps me staying in Shang?
I first heard that he is transferring to Taiwan and his last day would be in mid August, so I was expecting to see him after my leave and was planning to get him a farewell gift too. Had thoughts to buy him a pair of cuff-links which I have never bought for anyone before because that's how important he is to me. And I can't believe he just left like that. I was so heartbroken today that I wasn't myself at work.
Now heartbroken is definitely the right word to use in case anyone out there thinks I'm crazily in love with my boss. When you meet someone nice, you remember them for life. Especially if he gives you chances and chances to prove yourself, despite you disappointing him over and over again.
I'm feeling all the more upset because I know deep inside that we won't ever see each other again. Who am I to keep in contact with him? He may not even remember me. But I strongly believe it remembering everyone that has helped you in your life along the way. Mirko is one of them.
Catching up... With time :/
03 August 2014, Sunday
As the saying goes, "time and tide waits for no man"...
Indeed, time passes so quickly at the blink of an eye. Seven months has passed since I returned back to Singapore after my OSEP trip, but it feels just like yesterday when I was slurping down kimchi soup and shopping away. Nonetheless, I've accepted the face that I'm back in my home country, because the weather proves me so. So freaking hot.
But anyways, cheers to a long weekend for everybody and Selamat Hari Raya to all my muslim friends! Extremely happy because I took a week of leave from work... No specific reasons. Prolly just because I needed a break.
Was planning to travel overseas with my friend (like a getaway or something) but neither of us realized it was the seventh month already so we dropped the entire traveling plan. Not even Malaysia.
My Malaysia relatives were in town Sunday night till Wednesday morning, which is the main reason why I took leave so I could accompany them. We went to Holland Village, East Coast Park for dinner, Gardens by the Bay and few other places with local delicacies, Love spending time with them. Event though we are all over the world (Singapore, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Korea) for various reasons, I never fail to feel bonded whenever we get together.
So they left on Wednesday morning and honestly I have the urge to travel back with them but no, because it means I gotta take a plane back. *shudders*
Had a dinner session with Emily and Shayne for their birthday and I feel so sorry for never remembering their birthdays although they remember mine (and even gave me so touching presents). So I treated them to Shabu Sai at Orchard Central because one of our ex-colleague is now working there as a manager! So glad to see him after like two years?
Thursday was movie with my friends and dinner and pool. Was doing pretty well at pool this night to my own surprise haha.
Friday was dinner with Miaoqi, Wangwei and Xiuyi after their university workshop session. Glad to be still able to meet up even though everyone is busy with their own activities these days :D
Saturday morning was spent at school having combined practice for CO. Evening time was spent watching the NDP preview with Cedric! Being so patriotic 9 years since I last watched NE show hahaha. Got Starbucks after the show too~
Sunday lunch with Amanda at 313 and catch up session. This babe is my vitamin in my life man, need her to keep me going. Shopping and chit chats session about how fast the two of us are progressing into the cruel society. And talking about dreams and the two un-ambitious us, And sharing our woes. Can't ask for more :)
And that marks the end of my week long break. Definitely not looking forward to returning to work.
